Like A Text Machine

My mom has been like a texting maniac lately. That’s what these smart phones will do to you. One day you’re dabbling, the next you’re a full-fledged texter.

That’s fine, I like a good text, like getting a private note FYEO!

But you know some things do get lost in textlation. Take for instance, this recent invitation to the Howell Balloon Festival:

Mom: Did you want to go to the ballon fest with us Friday? It is supposed to rain on Saturday. We could eat here first.

Me: At night?

Mom: Yes because balloons launch at 8

Me: I am not sure the kids would survive? I guess I will decide based on naps that day.

Mom: Ok I knew you would be worried about basket but I thought balloons and being outside might make it spanked. Maybe if she is in pj’s and we are on blanket she wo

Mom: uld be ok.

Mom: Wow this is putting strange words in my message! Basket should be hadley. What is spanked? Pj’s?

This week has been full of ups and downs. Let’s see, big time nap rejection, best behavior at school ever, CA-RABBY teether, securing my favorite babysitter EVERY WEDNESDAY MORNING, ALL SUMMER LONG! Among other things.

Due to the mind-numbing pace of these highs and lows, I personally have nothing funny to say for Friday Funnies. Instead, I will point you to the website that makes me cry and pee my pants all at the same time. Gah Cake Wrecks is the funniest site I have ever stumbled upon.

I am a big fan of the Literal LOL category, like the cakes below. But honestly? Hilarity lurks around every corner.
