Since our rerouted trip removed us from our two biggest planned runs, and since we were just a stone throw from it anyway, we decided to spend a morning running around Mackinac Island. Hands down best decision of our lives. Bastien was a little nervous about it. And also frantic at the idea that I might want to stop for 10 seconds and hydrate. But once we got into our stride it was really wonderful and memorable. It truly is my favorite place to run. And Bastien got so much encouragement from cyclists who recognized by a certain point that he was running the whole eight miles. We celebrated with lunch at the Pink Pony, brag stickers, and Moomers. Hadley got to ride a tandem with Jim. And I saw a horse with a mustache- for real! Best day ever.
