Acadia – Day 2
On our second full day on Mount Desert Island, we rented some bikes, took a shuttle and got dropped off on one of the many carriage roads built by Rockefeller within the park. We rode a long, lovely loop around Eagle Lake. Hadley was not amused by the climbing. But in the end she made it. Then we took an equally long road back to the rental shop because our shuttle driver was on lunch break. I am amazed that Hadley didn’t die at that point. But sure enough, after some BOGO Ben & Jerry’s from Rite Aid, she perked back up to climb some more granite over by Thunder Hole. That time on those rocks in that ocean breeze was glorious. I did some yoga there to celebrate the occasion. It’s very busy at Acadia most of the time, seems like. But there was plenty of granite to go around.
