Acadia – Day 1, Part 1

It’s high time we started talking about vacation. Two weeks after the fact. Ha! Jim has finished the laborious job of sorting his pictures, so expect a week filled with feasts for the eyes. Starting with our first day in the gorgeous Acadia National Park.

After we arrived in Maine and Hadley threw up, as she does, we headed out to hike mountains. Actually this began with a drive around Park Loop Road, just to soak the place in for a second (or half a day) and pick a friendly hike.

The kids were desperate to just get using their new hiking poles, but we finally talked them into a worthy hike up Gorham Mtn. to adequately break them in. Beautiful views abound at the top of this nice climb. But, since it was not treacherous (that is, needing iron rungs) it did not satisfy Bastien. It was also surprisingly hot for a 70 something degree day. And after so much more adventuring to follow, that is about the extent of what I remember about this day!
