Center of Science & Industry (Columbus, OH)
And in our Great Museum Race, we have a new winner friends! I was skeptical for a moment of the award boasted on their website: “Parents Magazine #1 Science Center in the Country.” But I was quickly proven wrong.

To say that Bastien loved this submarine you could climb around in would be the understatement of the year. We still talk about his “closed up boat” (his title) daily. Hourly? I am convinced he would sit quietly in the car for a four hour ride just for the chance to climb into it again. Personally, I found it a little claustrophobic.

You guys, this museum is nothing short of Las Vegas. I am truly astounded at the amount of work, genius and money that went into building each exhibit. And, we didn’t even stray off the path to see the special exhibits. AND we missed an entire room.

Jim and I really loved the Progress exhibit best. The only thing missing was an actual time machine. There were actual streets, with actual buildings, with actual interactive stuff (like the payphone that let you call all these crazy 50s characters!). It left me pining with nostalgia for eras I never even lived in. Really amazing.

And let’s not forget that Bastien and I can now cross off “lifting a car” from our bucket lists.

Dudes, just go here, ok?
