Craftin’ For Birthdays
Little Miss Hannah requested a purse for her third birthday. How could I resist such an opportunity with CRAFT written all over it? Well, I couldn’t. After searching through my favorite blog, Craft Gossip, I found a pattern for a toddler purse that looked just about right. Here’s what I came up with:

I added a button closure because let’s face it, all purses need to close, or else their contents inevitably end up strewn about your Cozy Coupe at the least opportune moments. I was pleased to be able to put this whole purse together using fabric scraps I already owned, plus a button and some ric rac compliments of Great Grandma’s stash.
Then, I stumbled upon this “really easy” no-sew tutorial for lacing cards. I think a three year old is just about ready for such things, don’t you?

Well, it was really easy, except my hole punch was really weak. So I bruised up my hands quite a bit in the making. All in all, a small price to pay for good crafting, I think.
