Go-To Girl Gift

Pillowcase dresses are pretty much the standard gift for any girl I know turning one. I love their versatility: can be worn over tops, leggings, or stand-alone as a dress. I also love that they grow with the girl for years and was thrilled to see side by side pictures of my niece in hers on her second birthday. So cute to see how much shorter it looked one year later.

So of course I had to make one for Hadley. And, at the eleventh hour I found a way to make an extra special embellishment. Lucky for me, the whole project, including the flower, took about 1.5 hours. That’s just about the time I have left in a day for “me time”. So why not just go ahead and give it back to my kids?

Anyway, I wanted to share a couple links to the tutorials I use. Just in case you’ve got a little “me time” coming up too. Go here for the dress. Go here for the flower. Then, go get sewing. You can, you can!
