OBX Side Trips

Well we’re back. Not without much kicking and screaming though. And while I am mostly referring to Bastien, I have to admit I didn’t want to come home either and pretty much spent half of our vacation trying to figure out how to purchase my own OBX vacation mansion. Something tells me I could host some pretty stellar yoga retreats there. Any investors out there looking for a sponsorship opportunity? I am 99.9% serious.

So it was pretty wonderful having young, energetic helping hands on this trip and I am really grateful my sister and her friend (and even my parents!) were able to join us. Unfortunately Bastien was on his absolute worst behavior at least 50% of the time. That meant that sometimes even 12 adult hands were not enough. There was a lot of biting. It wasn’t pretty.

On a more positive note, we saw and did a few neat things along the 14 hour drive there, and then again on the way back. So that’s what I’ll be posting about this week. I’ve got a lot of new toddler-friendly places up my sleeve. So the next time the going gets tough, guess I’ll just pack ‘em up and start heading south. I can handle an 18 hr round trip day with two backseat punks don’t you think?
