Things And Stuff

So for my birthday last week, I got all kinds of interesting gifts. My parents got me a deluxe beach shelter and chair, which will get heavy usage next summer for sure. But for the meantime, and despite heavy persuasion otherwise, Jim got me the most fabulous dustbuster imaginable. People always try to convince my husband NOT to get his wife such practical gifts, but thankfully he knows me and how much joy these things bring to my heart. I have been a dustbusting maniac as of late, my people. And when he asks you if he should buy me the Dyson Slim for Valentine’s Day, here’s a hint: YES!

One of the other meaningful gifts he got me was an entire case of these Whoopie Pies.

The first words out of my mouth upon opening them were: These are for ME ONLY, capish? And then I quickly squirreled them into various nooks and crannies around the house for winter. Or for next weekend. Whichever comes first.

When we were dating, we used to frequent a nearby 7-11 to get Ben & Jerry’s Making Whoopie Pie ice cream. Then we would devour the entire pint in a single sitting. Aren’t we so romantic? I am pretty sure that particular 7-11 was the only one in the world who ever sold that flavor and then one sad day they stopped carrying it. Without warning! This kind of malicious behavior should be outlawed. But I digress, because now I have in my possession something even better. So take THAT 7-11.
