Workin’ Hard For My Money

By the time you read this, I will be in full-swing with a brand new Soul Stretch schedule. That’s the yoga class I teach, for those of you who haven’t heard. It’s turning out to be a doozy of a commitment because, well quite honestly, because I panicked.

You see, there was this tragic week a month or so ago when I appeared to lose my sweet, sweet freelance writing gig. My immediate reaction to the news of the layoffs was to hop online and try to line up a new, immediate income. Even though I was 39 weeks pregnant. I’m so insane independent like that sometimes.

Let me tell you those nesting instincts are strong ones because all of a sudden I went from teaching one leisurely class a week to four. Yikes. I have never taught four classes a week, especially not after running around with a three-week-old and a 21-month-old, 24-7.

However, after staying at home with both kids for three solid weeks, I am really looking forward to a change of pace (wherein people actually listen to me when I tell them to relax). Just cross your fingers that I don’t accidentally start instructing in baby-talk. Or that I don’t fall asleep and drool on myself during final meditation. Man, that would be embarrassing. And if you feel like dropping in for some instant serenity (or just to point and laugh at the crazy-tired instructor), here’s where to find me on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Still cringing a bit.

P.S. Because I don’t do this enough, let me tell you how awesome my husband is. He totally redesigned my Soul Stretch website, while I was in labor! It was like getting two new babies for the price of one. Now that’s being an effective labor partner!
P.P.S. I didn’t actually lose my freelance writing job. Just sort of. And after I get released from the witness protection program, I’ll tell you all about it.
