Bossy
I marched right into my OB’s office today with full intentions of demanding that she REMOVE THIS BABY FROM MY BODY, SO HELP ME GOD! I even came armed with a mental checklist of reasons:
*My blood pressure has been high for 7 WEEKS!
*I have a 20-month-old at home and NO SERVANTS!
*My due date was YESTERDAY!
And even with that kind of irrefutable logic, it almost became the worst appointment of all time. Because my blood pressure was still high (surprise, surprise) and they had taken no labs for over a month, it was now time for MORE LABS. Let me simplify this… this baby should be in KINDERGARTEN by now and my doctor’s office wants to prolong her stay in my womb with more labs.
I all but fell to the floor and grabbed her ankles, begging her not to make me take the 24-hour urine collection test again. Thankfully, a stern warning did the trick, wherein I said: “Look, we both know nothing is wrong here, DO NOT make me repeat the 24-hour collection.”
I left with a mere prick in my arm AND a promise of induction on Sunday night. As in Mother’s Day.
Moral of the story: I’m feeling like one tough mother. But, I guess we’ll let pitocin-induced contractions be the true judge of that.

Hey you: Hang in there! I assure you of Little Miss’ imminent arrival.
One miss Cameron Pennell was born this morning — our friends with your same due date — and they live awfully close to you. May need to hook your little women up for a playdate (i.e. lie in carseats while moms indulge in a much-needed glass of wine).
Am keeping an eye on your blog and FB and CAN’T WAIT to hear the news!!! ~Jeanine
