Two-fer Tuesday

Numero Uno: Big fat high blood pressure again today. Now this could be related to the fact that along with my entire department I nearly lost my job in the last week, then got it back, but only secretly, and I’m not allowed to show my face in the office (and you thought ghostwriters didn’t exist!). OR, it could be that I’m going to have a baby any minute now. Either way, the BP was high enough to send me to the hospital where I had a very relaxing non-stress test. My what comfortable recliners they have in triage. So comfortable in fact, that within 10 minutes my BP was back down to 110ish over 70ish. So in case you were wondering, the secret to good health is a good recliner.

Numero Dos: Bastien’s first haircut, post-surgery. My Mom took him, and here is the email update I received:
Bastien got a haircut and made you look like a big fat liar! Absolutely no problems, sat as still as could be and even followed Sherri behind the cash register afterward. He was a little hesitant, well maybe a lot hesitant, about the clippers but once he saw me hold them, he was willing to try also. Sherri was real careful at first not to touch his skin with them but he was so compliant, she even got to trim his side burns. I finally told her that was enough because it was getting pretty short. I hope you like it. I went in armed with a coke from McDonalds and a snack bag of raisins but he really could care less. I think we caught him right at the right time (11:30) because he seemed a little dazed.
So the secret to an easy toddler haircut: Bring them in dazed and confused. More important, let your much more experienced mother handle such things.
