Bastien’s CVR – Post-op Day 6 (part 1)
We tried to give Bastien his medicine mixed with a small amount of juice in a shot glass last night. The shot glass is just the right size for him, and he does a good job getting all the liquid into his mouth, so it seemed worth a try. He chugged the first glass with great enthusiasm. By the time we had the second one ready, he had actually started to taste the first and was not having any more. So, we had to give the rest by syringe (4 or 5) which did not go over well.
He went right to bed at his normal time (8ish) and slept pretty solidly until 4:30. He seemed to be in some pain, so I got up with him. It was clear that rocking wasn’t going to cut it, so I gave him some of his pain medication, and he spend the rest of the night with mommy.
As for me, I spent the rest of the morning in our guest bedroom (in the basement). About that I have just one thing to say: it’s better than the couch.
Jessica reports that the morning has gone pretty smooth and he looks great. He looked the same to me this morning, so I’ll have to see for myself when I get home.
