Haulin’
Bastien is in the transport business these days. On a typical morning, he loads up his truck with some new freight and he’s on his way. First, it was the little people from his bus, all placed carefully on the seat. Any bump or corner he ran into left him scurrying to collect his displaced passengers and set them gingerly back on the seat. The next day I showed him that his truck had a bed and this prompted him to fill it up with poker chips. Going to Vegas that day perhaps? Today I believe his company has gone international because he loaded up with spices from the spice drawer first thing.
Besides all that, he is just generally cute these days. He pretends to eat cereal he sneaks out of the cabinet. He’s into putting things into other things (last week I caught him trying to shove a three foot vent from the fridge into the above mentioned spice drawer. And I often find other treasures in the cabinets and filing drawer–books, toys, my wallet…) I also discovered today that he’s been hiding not one but two of his top mollars for who knows how long. His favorite part of the day is undeniably bath time which Jim owns. He plays a wild game of peek a boo with the shower curtain and likes to brush his teeth while bathing so he can frequently rinse the brush under the running water.
His vocabulary is on a roll now too. Besides woof woof he can say “caw caw caw” when he hears birds. He also says “yay” and “see”. And just last night in front of company he pointed to a lion so I roared. He let out a ferocious roar right back! It was awesome and Jim said it was his proudest moment as a parent to date.
