The move

Saturday was grueling for sure. We moved from 9AM to 6PM then went to the old house to return the truck and clean out the house. We had just enough stuff left to completely stuff our two cars, but at least we were out by 10:30 PM. It was sad to leave the old house behind and I cried the whole way to the new house. BUT, I LOVE our new house! There is just something magical about it. We are surrounded by trees and birds that I’ve never seen in my life. Our neighbor has a pond with a fountain, so we can go to bed to the sound of running water. The first thing I see when I wake up is sunlight all around, open spaces, woods, and the neighbor’s horse. It is so beautiful. My first drive to work, I even passed a tractor! And it only took 30 minutes.

We’ve unpacked the entire kitchen (minus some tupperware) and laundry room. Also, the bedroom. Organized the basement somewhat and are working on the office. Then we can arrange the living room (which currently has a lot of office boxes in it).

The pets all seem to be adjusting well. Mazzy doesn’t leave the property, but she enjoys exploring when it’s light out. In the dark, she is a complete wimp. (She did venture down the lane a bit with my brother, only to bark and growl at the horse). Mi Mi is coexisting with everyone! She hangs out on every floor, which is so exciting. Moxie was really angry the first day and reverted to hissing and biting everyone, but she has since gotten over it. All’s well!

We are lining up our date to get the septic field fixed. I think it will be next week. Then we must get a move on the roof. We also have to order some new appliances this weekend. We are not repainting anything except the baby’s room. Everything is already totally cute. We need to touch up here and there, but she left all the paint so we can manage that when we are unpacked.
