Dinner 1 – Healthy Choice Chicken with Teriyaki Dipping Sauce
So it was dinner #1 without a kitchen, and I chose my Healthy Choice Chicken with Teriyaki Dipping Sauce. It looks great on the package. There’s the chicken with nice grill marks (according to Healthy Choice: “grilling adds a delicate caramelized flavor”). Then there are some roasted potatoes, snow peas, and carrots. Last but not least, there’s a little pot of teriyaki dipping sauce. After 8 1/2 minutes in the microwave, it was ready for my consumption. As soon as I cut into the chicken and saw a spongy texture, I knew I was in trouble. I thought the dipping sauce might mask the awful taste and texture, but it was no match for the “delicate carmelized flavor”. The potatoes were also terrible, but they were the only component of the meal that was even close to edible. I could not finish the whole thing and threw the last 2/3 away.
