No more Jim’s Old House

As you may notice, www.jimsoldhouse.com now redirects you to the portion of the gallery on this site that has all of the house pictures. I’m trying to simplify all of our various websites and galleries, so I’ve put everything together in one nice package. This should be easier for me to post updates too, as well, so it (may) have more up-to-date information and pictures.

One thing I have been really wanting to do for a long time is make a list of all of the home improvements that we have done, so that I don’t forget. Here goes (in no particular order):

Inside

• remodeled bathroom
• removed carpet from dining room, living room, foyer, stairway, upstairs hallway and refinished hardwood floors underneath
• made stairwell walls into half-wall
• added a light fixture illuminating 1st half of stairway
• replaced dining room fan, kitchen light fixture, front porch light fixture, upstairs hallway light fixture, living room sconces
• installed ADT security system
• replaced closet hardware
• upgraded fuse box to circuit breaker box
• wired all 2nd floor electrical into 2nd floor panel with new wiring
• added multi-port jacks (2 cable TV, 1 internet, 1 phone) to each bedroom, dining room, and living room
• painted 2 bedrooms, bathroom, 2nd floor hallway, stairway, foyer, living room, dining room

Outside

• removed awning above small window in addition and awning above garage access door
• replaced sliding garage access door with swinging door with locking knob and deadbolt
• removed overgrown ewes from front foundation planting
• planted ornamental grasses, burning bushes, rose bushes, and perennials in front
• rototilled entire yard, seeded entire yard
• painted aluminum siding and exterior doors
• painted foundation, front porch, and front porch railings
• replaced door knobs and deadbolts
• replaced mailbox
• replaced doorbell
• replaced house numbers
• added 2 foot wide gravel strip to extend driveway
• replaced light on garage exterior with motion-sensor light
